Frequently Asked Questions

What is the CYF?

The Commonwealth Youth Forum is an international event that aims to:

  • develop young people’s understanding of the Commonwealth and its values
  • create a platform for young people to contribute to Commonwealth and Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) agendas;
  • provide the delegates with a self-development opportunity through skill building sessions
  • promote networking and interchange between young people, while giving the delegates a uniquely Australian experience.

Up to 130 delegates representing every nation of the Commonwealth will attend the event. The delegates will produce a communiqué which will be circulated at CHOGM in 2011 and be presented to the Commonwealth Secretariat, giving the young people of the Commonwealth a chance to have their opinions heard by Heads of Government.

When will CYF take place?

The CYF will take place from 23-27 October 2011 in Fremantle, Western Australia.
