Thank you to everyone who contributed to the recent AYF discussion topic on Mental Health and Workforce Participation. Some great ideas, comments and stories were shared on mental health.
Overall, an overwhelming majority of respondents (83%) to the online survey agreed that young people with a mental illness are treated differently.
The AYF is collating all these ideas, along with those from the previous mental health discussion topic, into a submission on behalf of young people to the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Education and Employment – Inquiry into mental health and workforce participation.
It is expected that the Inquiry Report will be tabled in the first quarter of 2012. The AYF submission will be published in February next year on the Inquiry website at www.aph.gov.au/house/committee/ee/mentalhealth/subs.htm.
