Repower Events can happen anywhere in Australia,
Your local cafe, pub, school, theatre or supermarket NSW
Join young people across Australia who are holding Repower Events to address climate change.
A Repower Event is a social fundraiser (like a trivia night, concert or movie screening) where the money raised goes to reducing the emissions of the venue. You can Repower your favourite cafe, your school, pub or community centre.
Hold a Repower event and raise money to switch your local pub, cafe, school canteen or other venue to renewable energy. It reduces emissions locally, but also shows our politicians that we want a country powered by 100% renewable energy.
Actions speak louder than words. If we can hold over 100 Repower events before July, we will send a strong message to our politicians that we’re already starting to transform our country to 100% renewables, and it’s about time they followed suit.
When you register at http://repower.aycc.org.au you will be linked up with other young people from your area, be given a mentor to help you organise your event and given access to resources and trainings to get you started.
We have already had some success stories:
- a group in Canberra held a carrot mob event and raised $14,000 to Repower their local supermarket
- a school in Perth held a trivia night and the money raised will buy solar panels for their canteen
- a group in Brisbane held a fun event to Repower their local bowls club
