Positive Body Image Awards

THE NOMINATIONS PERIOD FOR THE POSITIVE BODY IMAGE AWARDS HAVE NOW CLOSED

On 27 February, Minister Garrett announced a call for nominations for the Positive Body Image Awards.  The nomination period closed on 10 April 2012.

The Awards are aimed at the Australian media and entertainment, fashion and advertising industries and will recognise the positive steps taken by these industries to adopt the principles outlined in the Voluntary Industry Code of Conduct on Body Image.

Award winners will be publicly recognised for their leading work and positive body image initiatives. It is anticipated that Award winners will be eligible to display the Positive Body Image Award Symbol on their relevant business product and promotional materials for a period of 12 months following receipt of an Award.

All entries will be assessed by the Positive Body Image Awards Assessment and Advisory Panel, chaired by Ms Helen McCabe, Editor in Chief, Australian Women’s Weekly. Award winners will be announced in mid-2012
