The Office for Youth’s national Youth Week brings together around 100 young people as well as youth advocates, government officials and ministers to participate in meaningful conversations about programs and policies that affect young people.

Youth Week runs from 3 to 7 February with events across Canberra, including the National Youth Forum.

The Youth Forum, taking place on Wednesday 5 February, is where young people will pitch their ideas to senior public servants as part of a policy hackathon. Plus, youth leaders will host a youth panel where members of the Office for Youth’s Youth Steering Committee and Youth Advisory Groups members will share their experiences advising government.

The Minister for Youth the Hon Dr Anne Aly MP will open the Youth Forum. This year’s theme is rural, regional and remote.

Later in the week outgoing Youth Advisory Group members will get together to celebrate finishing term, while new members will meet with their partner agencies and portfolio ministers as they begin the program.

Youth Week is part of the Office for Youth’s commitment to recognise and collaborate with young people.
