Just announced: national youth consultations

decorative

We’re running a series of national youth consultations to hear directly from you on issues that matter most to you.

We’ll be heading across the country to meet young people in person and online.

At a youth consultation, you’ll get the opportunity to:

  • meet us in spaces where you are comfortable and there are other young people
  • tell us what you want government to be doing for young people in your region and for young Australians in general
  • engage in meaningful conversations about the issues that matter to you.

Your views will help us to plan our 2026 National Youth Forum and help us improve our website.

Topics that you can raise are things like:

  • mental and physical health
  • the cost of living
  • housing affordability and access
  • education, training and employment.

Plus, anything else you think the government could be doing to improve the lives of young people like you.

We want to know your opinions because our goal at the Office for Youth is to make sure that young Australians are connected to government and involved in decision making.

We do this by:

  • empowering young people to raise concerns with government directly, like at a youth consultation
  • offering avenues for young people to connect with government in an on-going way, like through a Youth Advisory Group or the Youth Steering Committee

We’ll be letting you know when and where we are coming soon. Keep an eye on our website, plus our social media accounts to make sure you get involved.
