Applications are now open for the 2026 Youth Advisory Groups.
Our Youth Advisory Groups work directly with the Australian Government on policies and programs that affect young people.
Applications are open for young people aged 16 to 24. Each advisory group will consist of up to 10 young people.
The 2026 Youth Advisory Groups are:
- Climate Change and Water Youth Advisory Group, working with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water
- Countering Foreign Interference Youth Advisory Group, working with the Department of Home Affairs
- First Nations Youth Advisory Group, working with the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies
- Mental Health Youth Advisory Group, working with the National Mental Health Commission
- Sports Participation Youth Advisory Group, working with the Australian Sports Commission.
We are recruiting for positions in the Countering Foreign Interference, First Nations, Mental Health and Sports Participation Youth Advisory Groups.
No experience is needed to apply! We want a range of people from different backgrounds.
Applications are open from 1 October to 26 October 2025. The first meeting will be held in Canberra in early 2026.
