Youth Advisory Group members appointed

The Youth Advisory Groups ensure young people's ideas are heard on policies and programs that affect them.

The groups are made up of new and ongoing members who represent the breadth of diversity in young people across Australia.

The 2026 groups will work directly with government on current issues, including:  

• making sport safer and welcoming for everyone
• making sure young people’s views help shape how Australia deals with climate change
• encouraging open talks about mental health
• helping young people tackle foreign interference, and
• ensuring First Nations voices are heard.  

Each group consists of up to 10 young people aged 16 to 24. They come from almost every state and territory in Australia, and each bring a unique perspective from their lived experience.  

The 2026 Youth Advisory Group members are:  

Climate Change and Water Youth Advisory Group

Countering Foreign Interference Youth Advisory Group

First Nations Youth Advisory Group

Mental Health Youth Advisory Group

Sports Participation Youth Advisory Group

*Indicates a young person that was part of a Youth Advisory Group in 2025 and has had their position renewed for 2026.
