Each year the Office for Youth celebrates the National Youth Forum to connect government officials with members of our Youth Steering Committee and Youth Advisory Groups in-person here in Canberra.

This year, the forum will take place during our first Youth Meets Parliament Week, which runs from Monday 23 March to Friday 27 March 2026.

This is the Office for Youth’s third National Youth Forum, which was designed as an opportunity for young people to share their ideas and provide feedback with the people who make the big decisions on policies and programs affecting them - from government officials to senior public servants.

As part of our Engage! strategy, we outlined our commitment to

  • recognise and listen to young people
  • empower young people to advocate and engage with government, and
  • support government to work with young people.

Youth Meets Parliament Week recognises this commitment and is one of the most important week’s on the Office for Youth’s calendar.

We look forward to meeting with other departments and agencies to talk about what their current priorities are. Our young people will get an opportunity to represent other young people around the country by sharing their ideas and solutions
