Throughout the month of April, various Australian states and territories are celebrating young people by holding a Youth Week!

The Minister for Youth the Hon Senator Dr Jess Walsh launched the report yesterday at our annual National Youth Forum, revealing what young people told us about a wide range of issues in late 2025.

Close the Gap Day this year falls on 19 March 2026 – and we want to take this opportunity to recognise some of the amazing work of our First Nations Youth Advisory Group.

Each year the Office for Youth celebrates the National Youth Forum to connect government officials with members of our Youth Steering Committee and Youth Advisory Groups in-person here in Canberra.

The Office for Youth is excited to announce the appointment of 48 young Australians to the 2026 Youth Advisory Groups.

On Sunday 25 January 2026, Nedd Brockmann was named the Young Australian of the Year at the 2026 Australian of the Year Award ceremony in Canberra.

Applications are now open for the 2026 Youth Advisory Groups.
