Join a 2025 Youth Advisory Group

Applications are now open for young people aged 16 to 24 to join the Australian Government’s Youth Advisory Groups.

The 2025 Youth Advisory Groups are:

  • Civic Engagement Youth Advisory Group working with the Department of Home Affairs
  • Climate Change and Water Youth Advisory Group working with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water
  • Creative Industries Youth Advisory Group working with the Office for the Arts
  • First Nations Youth Advisory Group working with the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) and the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations
  • Prevention of Gender-Based Violence Youth Advisory Group working with the Department of Social Services

Each advisory group consists of around 8 young people aged 16 to 24.

The Climate Change and Water Youth Advisory Group is new and we are recruiting for all positions. The other 4 groups were established last year and will be made up of new and ongoing members.

No experience is necessary before applying, we’re looking for a diverse group of people from across the country.

Applications are open from 28 October to 17 November 2024. The first meeting will take place in Canberra in early 2025.
