Meet our 2026 Climate Change and Water Youth Advisory Group!

Introducing our Climate Change and Water Youth Advisory Group Banner

We had a blast spending time with our Youth Advisory Groups at Youth Meets Parliament Week and getting to know some of our newest members – so let’s introduce them, your government representatives on issues that matter to you!

Starting with our Climate Change and Water Youth Advisory Group.

The group are this year gearing up to bring a youth perspective to climate and water policy reforms with their working partner, Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).

During Youth Meets Parliament Week, the group connected with DCCEEW on:

  • The importance of meeting people in their communities when designing strategies for climate change
  • Innovative ideas about how to get more young people involved with climate and water conservation, and
  • Potential future partnerships with climate and water Ministers and DCCEEW senior staff.

These ideas support their recently published input in the the Youth Water Security Statement with DCCEEW, capturing what water security means for young Australians. The group also provided input for the Advice on Engaging Youth in National Water Agreement Action Plans, sharing their views to engage youth on the future of water resource management in Australia – aiming to build youth awareness, better educate what this means for climate change, and provide other young people with the opportunity to provide input into the action plans.

2025 was a cracking start for this group and we’re excited to see what they achieve this year. Check out our 2026 group and meet the members.
